Pueblo’s Legends & Leaders celebration honored older adults with a luncheon, centenarian recognition and the presentation of the 2026 Soaring Senior Community Award. This year’s Soaring Senior honoree was Pat Gonzalez, a retired Pueblo educator and longtime volunteer recognized for her service through education, parish work, citizenship programs and the Pueblo Advisory Council on Aging. The program also celebrated Pueblo centenarians and near-centenarians. Honorees included Wayne Bowman, Dora Hawkins, Ramona Dominguez, Carolina Pagaduan, Lucy Caveza Quandt, Mary Woodie, Lucille Yergert, Ivestine White, Maximeno Martinez, Nenette Hollier, Trinie Rubidoux, Alpha Johnson, Cacilda Almaraz, Georgia Timme Lowery, Margaret Cullen, Edward Sajbel and Lucy Manzanares. The event was organized with support from the Pueblo Advisory Council on Aging, Pueblo Area Agency on Aging, Senior Resource Development Agency and community sponsors.
