The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America, 310 Central Main St., will celebrate its grand opening on June 12 with a ribbon-cutting, outdoor festival, sculpture and library dedications, and a special presentation by internationally recognized Leonardo da Vinci scholars. The museum is the first dedicated museum in North America to feature the complete facsimile collection of da Vinci’s manuscripts and drawings, along with full-scale constructions of his visionary designs by the Artisans of Florence. The museum opens to visitors after a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an outdoor festival with family activities, food trucks, a farmers market, music and medieval combat demonstrations until 5 p.m. Festival activities continue from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 13. Opening events also include the dedication of a 14-foot Vitruvian Man sculpture outside the museum, created by local artist Eric McCue, and “Inside the Mind of a Genius: Conversations with da Vinci Scholars” at 7 p.m. June 11 at the Pueblo Convention Center. Tickets are $20 through Eventbrite. For more information, visit DaVinciSTEAM.org or call 719-225-8850.
