Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) offers information and free, appointment-only tax preparation assistance. PPLD’s Tax Resources guide includes tax forms, assistance options, IRS account FAQs and other helpful tools. Free services are provided by IRS-certified volunteers through AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program by appointment only, February 3-April 15:

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

• Library 21c (February 3-April 14): Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For appointments, call 719-257-3805 

• Fountain Library (February 4-April 15): Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Saturdays, February 14 and 28, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

VITA – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
For individuals earning less than $69,000 in 2025

• High Prairie Library (February 21, March 14 & 21 and April 4):
10 a.m.-4 p.m. For appointments, call 2-1-1

Federal and state tax forms are available online and may be printed using library computers. Printed booklets are not stocked at library locations. Visit PPLD.org/taxes for a complete list of tax preparation services at PPLD locations or for more information about filing your 2025 tax return.

Pueblo & Fremont Locations:

Free tax preparation and filing is available for seniors and households with an annual income of $69,000 or less through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Schedule an appointment with VITA’s IRS-certified volunteers any day of the week except Sunday by dialing 211 or booking online at Pueblo United Way.org/VITA. The following locations host appointments:

• Mondays: Barkman Library, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Tuesdays: Rawlings Library, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Wednesdays: Lucero Library, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Thursdays: Minnequa Works Credit Union, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Fridays: Pueblo West Library, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Saturdays: Pleasant View Middle School, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Giodone Library, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Greenhorn Valley Library (Colorado City), 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
