Join us for A Moment in Time: Omotesenke Tea Ceremony with Joy Sato. Experience EN, experience being PRESENT, experience the ART of preparing a Bowl of Tea, experience Harmony (WA) Respect, (KEI), Purity (SEI), and Tranquility (JAKU).
Welcome to the Year of the Horse, 2026, Omotesenke Tea Ceremony presentation with Joy Mari Sato ( Tea Name: Sojyu). She will be presenting the Art of the Japanese Tea Ceremony along with her Tea students, Brett Orton-San, Kyria Orton-San, Rachel Deibler-San, Sarah Deibler-San, and Natasha Brandstattler-San.
What to expect: Instruction on Clearing/Cleansing the mind before entering the Tea space, (Using the Tsukubai: a stone basin to wash your hands). Instructions on how to appreciate the (Tokonoma) the Tea alcove where the (Chabana) Tea Flower Arrangement, (Kogo) Incense Container and (Kakemono) the scroll are displayed. Instruction on how to receive your Tea sweets and Tea Bowl, and the way to enjoy your bowl of Tea.
Class is free to attend but there is a pay as you wish donation to help out for future upcoming classes. You can mark it 0 for a free admission. Thank you for any help and consideration!
